Liverpool have reportedly opened talks with Lille striker Victor Osimhen, who has also been linked with moves to Manchester United and Chelsea.
The 21-year-old only joined Lille from Belgian side Charleroi last summer and has attracted interest from some of Europe's elite courtesy of 18 goals and six assists from 38 appearances across all competitions.
A host of Premier League clubs are understood to be among those keeping tabs on the forward, including Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Leicester City and Everton.
However, French outlet Le 10 Sport claims that Liverpool are now leading the race for his signature, having begun negotiations with the player's representatives.
Lille are thought to want as much as €80m (£69.7m) for the Nigeria international, though, which could prove to be a sticking point in negotiations considering the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on clubs' finances.
Liverpool have also been heavily linked with RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner as Jurgen Klopp looks to add more depth to his attacking options.
