Eintracht Frankfurt confirm that Daichi Kamada - linked with Manchester United and Chelsea - will be leaving the German club on a free transfer at the end of June.

Eintracht Frankfurt have confirmed that Japanese attacker Daichi Kamada will be leaving the German club on a free transfer at the end of June.

The 26-year-old has been in impressive form for his Bundesliga side during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 13 goals and registering five assists in 38 appearances in all competitions.

Borussia Dortmund continue to be heavily linked with Kamada, while it is believed that both Manchester United and Chelsea are keen to sign him this summer.

A statement from Frankfurt has revealed that the versatile attacker will leave the club once his contract has expired at the end of June.

"Eintracht Frankfurt and Daichi Kamada are going their separate ways after the 2022/23 season," read a statement on the German club's official website.

Frankfurt's sporting director Markus Krosche revealed that the club did everything they could to extend Kamada's deal, but the Japan international has made the decision to move on.

"Daichi Kamada has developed into a very good Bundesliga player at Eintracht Frankfurt in recent years and has played his part in the sporting development of the club - with the highlight of the Europa League victory last year," Krosche said.

"We would have liked to see Daichi at Eintracht in the future, but the player's interests did not go hand in hand. We thank him for his commitment to Eintracht and wish him all the best for the future."

Kamada made the move to Frankfurt from Sagan Tosu in 2017, and he has represented the German side on 170 occasions in all competitions, contributing 37 goals an 31 assists in the process.

The attacker has scored seven goals and registered five assists in 25 Bundesliga appearances this season, while he also netted three goals in eight Champions League outings before the team's exit to Napoli.

Man United head coach Erik ten Hag is believed to be an admirer of Kamada, who is capable of operating in a number of different positions.

The Red Devils are expected to be in the market for at least one new midfielder this summer, and Kamada's availability on a free transfer could see the English giants make a move.

Chelsea, though, are also believed to be keen on his services, with the Blues preparing to make more signings this summer despite their activity over the last couple of windows.
