Adrien Rabiot is reportedly still on the radar of Manchester United after failed attempts to sign the Juventus midfielder in the past 18 months.

Manchester United have reportedly continued to monitor Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, after recent failed attempts to sign the player.

The Red Devils have been linked with Rabiot on more than one occasion in recent years, but have never been able to strike a deal with the Frenchman.

Issues with Rabiot's agent and his wage demands have seen deals fall through for the 28-year-old, who remains a regular in the Juve side under Massimiliano Allegri.

Man United were one of the clubs linked with Rabiot in January, when he had just six months left on his contract.

That came after the club's deal to buy Rabiot for £15m in the previous summer fell through, due to his astronomical wage demands, leading to the signing of Casemiro instead.

Then after a fine season in the Bianconeri colours, where Rabiot scored 11 goals from midfield amid major off-the-field problems at the club, he extended his contract in Turin in June.

That new deal only lasts until next summer though, meaning that there could be a repeat of the rumours from January, where United may try to agree a pre-contract with Rabiot.

Calciomercato claims that United are "always on his trail" and could re-enter the market for him when the transfer window reopens.

Rabiot is now into his fifth season at the Allianz Stadium, where he has won the Serie A title, as well as the Coppa Italia.

Performances with Juventus in the past three years have seen Rabiot become a regular in the French national side too, and he netted in their record-breaking 14-0 win over Gibraltar last week.

The Manchester Evening News believes that central midfield is one of the four areas that the club are prioritising when it comes to strengthening in the transfer market.

Suspension and injury issues regarding Casemiro, as well as his perceived dip in form this season has raised the question about Erik ten Hag signing some midfield reinforcements in the coming transfer windows.

Ten Hag takes his injury-affected United squad to Goodison Park on Sunday to face Everton in the Premier League.
