Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy.
The Red Devils are looking to sign a new goalkeeper after Dean Henderson joined Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan deal this summer.
Although Tom Heaton is currently backup to first-choice goalkeeper David de Gea, United boss Erik ten Hag is keen to provide the Spaniard with further competition.
According to The Sun, United have identified McCarthy as a potential target, although no official approach has yet been made.
McCarthy has three years left on his current Southampton contract, but he has been replaced as the club's first-choice goalkeeper by new signing Gavin Bazunu who joined the Saints from Manchester City.
The 32-year-old kept five clean sheets for the South coast side in 17 Premier League appearances last term.
