Manchester United preparing summer bid for Monaco's Vanderson?

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to submit a bid for Monaco defender Vanderson in the summer transfer window.

Erik ten Hag currently has Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot available to him as his senior right-back options.

Wan-Bissaka was restricted to just four Premier League minutes before the World Cup break, and as a result, he was linked with a January departure.

An injury to Dalot ensured that the Englishman remained at Old Trafford, and he has since gained the upper hand over the Portugal international, starting 10 of Man United's 15 Premier League games since the World Cup.

One of Wan-Bissaka and Dalot could still be offloaded this summer, with United expected to sign a new right-back ahead of the 2023-24 season.

According to RMC Sport, Man United have identified Vanderson as a transfer target, and they are willing to submit an offer.

The report claims that a number of Monaco's key players could leave if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

With six games to go, fourth-placed Monaco will have to close a sizeable five-point gap to finish inside the Champions League places.

Vanderson is under contract until June 2027, which leaves the Ligue 1 club in a strong position when it comes to negotiating a transfer fee.

Since joining Monaco from Brazilian side Gremio in January 2022, Vanderson has made 56 competitive appearances, chipping in with three goals and seven assists.
