Giuseppe Marotta: 'Paul Pogba has not demanded a transfer from Juventus'

Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta denies reports that Paul Pogba has demanded a move away from the club, calling the midfielder "the best young player in the world".

Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta has rubbished reports that Paul Pogba has demanded a move away from the club.

The French midfielder has been heavily linked with a big-money summer move, with Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and former club Manchester United among the teams thought to be interested in the 22-year-old.

Marotta admitted that a number of "Europe's biggest clubs" had expressed an interest, but insisted that the Italian champions would not let him go easily.

"Pogba has not demanded a transfer," Marotta told Italian broadcaster Rai.

"He is the best young player in the world and it is only normal that some of Europe's biggest clubs want to sign him. But Juventus are a big club as well and we are not easy sellers."

Reports had suggested that Juventus had already agreed a £70m fee with PSG for the player.

Pogba is currently sidelined through injury and will miss his side's Champions League semi-final first leg against Real Madrid this evening.
