Manchester United manager David Moyes wants to sign Southampton teenage sensation Luke Shaw, according to reports.

Incoming Manchester United manager David Moyes reportedly wants to make Southampton starlet Luke Shaw one of his first signings at Old Trafford.

Shaw has been impressive at left-back for Saints this season, with the teenager forcing his way into the starting XI and making 28 appearances in the process.

Moyes has reportedly scouted Shaw on several occasions and believes that the England youth international would be a worthy acquisition for United, according to the Daily Mail.

The 17-year-old is a boyhood Chelsea fan and the Blues are also thought be monitoring his progress with a view to a future bid.

Saints remain confident of keeping their promising academy graduate and are preparing to offer Shaw a five-year contract when he turns 18 in July to stay at St Mary's, according to The Telegraph.
