Arsenal star Mesut Ozil reportedly turned down moves to Manchester United and Barcelona in favour of staying at the Emirates.
The German World Cup winner announced on Thursday that he has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Gunners.
The 29-year-old's previous deal was due to expire at the end of this season, but he opted against following in the footsteps of his teammate Alexis Sanchez, who joined United earlier this month.
Instead, the midfielder has extended his stay at Arsenal, reportedly becoming one of the club's highest-paid players on around £350,000 per week before tax.
According to Bild, Ozil turned down offers from United, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande, where he would have earned £22m a year.
Ozil is likely to form an attacking lineup with Alexandre Lacazette, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
