Report: Real Madrid want Danny Welbeck

Manchester United forward Danny Welbeck emerges as a reported transfer target for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly lining up a surprise move for Manchester United forward Danny Welbeck.

The England international, who came through the youth ranks at Old Trafford, scored 10 times in 36 appearances for United last season.

The 23-year-old continues to attract criticism, however, with reports earlier in the summer suggesting that he was ready to seek pastures new.

According to the Daily Star, that opportunity could be provided by Los Blancos, who are said to be lining up a move for the pacey attacker.

Madrid will be in the market for a back-up striker this summer due to Alvaro Morata's impending move to Juventus.
