A report claims that Juan Mata will be offered a dream move to Barcelona if he agrees to play for less than his current £170,000-a-week salary at Manchester United.

Barcelona are reportedly serious with their interest in Juan Mata, but the Manchester United midfielder will have to take a pay cut to secure a dream move.

Mata is out of contract at Old Trafford next month and is expected to move on following a five-and-a-half-year spell in Manchester.

Juventus are rumoured to be leading the race for the fan favourite's signature, while Atletico Madrid and Arsenal have also been linked.

However, The Sun claims that Mata is a shock transfer target for Barcelona, who will offer him the chance to return to his homeland if he agrees to play for less than his current £170,000-a-week salary.

The 41-cap Spain international marked his return to United's starting lineup with a goal against former club Chelsea on Sunday, taking him to five goals in 30 appearances from midfield this season.
