Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has reportedly added Romelu Lukaku to his list of summer transfer targets.
Speculation has suggested that Van Gaal is eager to bolster his attacking options, but the Dutchman has seen his pursuit of the likes of Karim Benzema, Edinson Cavani and Gonzalo Higuain stall.
As a result, Van Gaal has been forced to identify alternative options, one of whom is Everton frontman Lukaku, according to The Sun.
The Belgium international only arrived at Goodison Park from Chelsea for a club-record £28m 12 months ago, but he has hinted in recent weeks that he would like to move to a club that will be playing in the Champions League next season.
Providing that they come through an August qualifier, the Red Devils will be able to offer that to the 22-year-old.
