Giovanni Trapattoni insists Darron Gibson and Robbie Keane must find new clubs to secure their international careers.

Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni has urged Manchester United's Darron Gibson and Tottenham Hotspur's Robbie Keane to find new clubs.

The duo have been included in the Irish squad to play Croatia tomorrow, but Trapattoni revealed that they need to play first-team football in order to guarantee selection for future squads.

"Gibson is not just potential. He has very good quality and at 22 years old he should be playing," said the coach.

"I can see Robbie's frustration. The first or second year he has this same situation. We need him to play."

Gibson's recent planned move to Sunderland fell through, while 31-year-old Keane has been strongly linked with a transfer to Blackburn Rovers.
