Didier Deschamps says that his team should have been awarded two penalties during their 2-1 defeat to Lorient.

Marseille manager Didier Deschamps has cursed his team's luck after they slumped to their ninth defeat in 11 games at Lorient on Friday.

Goals from Arnold Mveumba and Kevin Monnet-Paquet were enough to sink Les Phoceens, who are without a win since their 2-1 victory over Rennes in January.

Marseille now find themselves in serious danger of finishing in the bottom half of Ligue 1 this season.

Deschamps said that he feels hard done by and believes that his team should have been awarded two penalties.

"We were really unlucky," said Deschamps. "There is nothing worse than coming away from a game with a feeling of injustice but tonight we felt we should have had two penalties.

"It is not an excuse but these things keep happening to us. We controlled the game for spells, showed desire and determination, but in our situation it becomes complicated when you don't get the breaks.

"Against a team with a reputation for being collectively strong, we controlled the game. There are certain games where we have not deserved to win, but tonight that wasn't the case. I am trying to remain calm but there are limits."

Marseille entertain Nancy on Wednesday.
