On-loan Chelsea star Gael Kakuta has condemned Marseille to yet another league defeat.
The hosts started the better and had the first real chance of the game when Abdoulaye Meite handled Loic Remy's header in the 10th minute.
The referee pointed to the spot and it was Remy who stepped up to score.
However, the visitors restored parity in the 25th minute when Younousse Sankhare stole in following a mistake from Nicola Nkoulou and applied the finish.
Baptiste Reynet was forced to into action after the break, twice from Brandao and then from Remy, as Les Phoceens pushed forward.
Marseille were left vulnerable at the back as they poured forward and a Dijon counter attack led to the game-changing moment in the 78th minute.
Nkoulou brought down Koro Koné inside the area, earning him an early bath, and Kakuta scored the resulting spot-kick.
Dijon's win puts breathing space between them and the Ligue 1 drop zone.
