Didier Drogba 'faces fine for snubbing media after Montreal Impact debut'

Montreal Impact striker Didier Drogba could reportedly be facing a fine for failing to speak to the press after his side's defeat to Philadelphia Union.

Montreal Impact striker Didier Drogba could be facing a fine after refusing to speak to the media in the wake of his debut for the Major League Soccer side.

The Chelsea legend told journalists after the game that he would only address them through his publicity team, according to the Evening Standard.

The Ivorian could now be slapped with a penalty for violating the open culture of access in American sport, which allows MLS reporters to interview players in locker rooms after a match.

It is unclear how much Drogba's fine might amount to as there is no set level for such offences in the MLS.

Montreal Impact lost 1-0 to Philadelphia Union on Drogba's debut, which he made as a 58th-minute substitute.
