Guingamp midfielder Giannelli Imbula says that speculation linking him with a move to Newcastle United is "paper talk".

French midfielder Giannelli Imbula has played down talk of a move to Newcastle United.

The 20-year-old currently plies his trade in Ligue 2 with Guingamp, but has emerged as a reported target for the Magpies.

However, the Belgian-born star said that he is ignoring speculation for the time being, dismissing it as "paper talk".

"I have a contract until 2015 so let's see what will happen," he told Sky Sports News. "Guingamp is my club and they will have their say.

"Newcastle are in the Premier League, you are talking about a big club, but nothing is done. It is only paper talk."

Imbula is the youngest player to play in Ligue 2 at 17 years, one month and four days.
