Newport County appoint Warren Feeney as first-team manager

Newport County confirm that Warren Feeney has been appointed first-team manager following John Sheridan's departure.

Newport County have announced that Warren Feeney has been appointed first-team manager following the departure of John Sheridan.

The 34-year-old has been working at Rodney Parade since October last year when he was brought in as an assistant coach to Sheridan, who returned to Oldham Athletic on Wednesday.

Now, Feeney has been promoted to the first-team role and will be in charge when the Exiles take on York City at Bootham Crescent on Saturday.

Newport are currently 20th in the League Two table, three points above the drop zone.

The club have won just four of their 24 league games this season.
