Jerome Champagne confirms FIFA presidency bid

Jerome Champagne confirms his bid to become the next FIFA president.

Former French diplomat Jerome Champagne has confirmed his bid to become the next FIFA president.

The 55-year-old is an ex-aide of current president Sepp Blatter.

Blatter, who has been in charge since 1998, recently hinted that he could stay on to run for a fourth term after previously suggesting that he would retire ahead of next year's elections.

Champagne left FIFA in 2010 to work as a football consultant in troubled regions such as Kosovo, Palestine and Israel.
