There were wins for Northampton Town, Torquay United and Wimbledon while Crawley Town snatched a late draw against Aldershot Town on Tuesday evening.
Northampton moved five points clear of the drop zone thanks to Toni Silva's 62nd-minute strike at relegation rivals Dagenham and Redbridge after Chris Lewington spilled a shot.
Torquay moved from fifth to second after Lee Mansell headed home Kevin Nicholson's centre in the first half to give Martin Ling's men victory over Rotherham United.
Promotion-chasing Crawley snatched a point against Aldershot after Billy Clarke converted in the 88th minute. Aaron Morris had put the visitors ahead in the fourth minute before Gary Alexander equalised from the spot. Peter Vincenti put the visitors back ahead before Clarke's later equaliser.
A brace from Jack Midson and a header from Billy Knott eased Wimbledon's relegation fears as they brushed aside lowly Bradford City 3-1. Pim Balkestein's own goal had put the visitors level at half time before Knott and Midson's strikes after the interval.
