Lewis Grabban scored a 15th-minute goal against his former club Bournemouth, but Norwich City were pegged back as they enter the half-time break with the score at 1-1.
It took Grabban just a quarter of an hour to remind his old side of his predatory instincts, which helped him to score 22 goals for the Cherries last season.
England Under-21 international Nathan Redmond skipped away from his marker on the right wing and sent a cross into the box, where Grabban escaped his two markers and planted a header beyond the reach of his former teammate Lee Camp.
Grabban, who now has five goals this season already, looked full of confidence and sent a 20-yard effort just wide before Kyle Lafferty then hit a shot straight at Camp.
Norwich were by far the dominant side and Lafferty went close once more before the visitors hit the Canaries with a sucker punch.
In the second minute of first-half stoppage time, Simon Francis squared the ball to Wilson, who tapped home at the far post to make it 1-1.
