Norwich City to remember John Bond before tonight's League Cup clash

Norwich City announce that players will wear black armbands against Doncaster Rovers tonight to pay tribute to former manager John Bond, who has died at the age of 79.

Norwich City have announced that they will pay respect to the memory of former manager John Bond following news of the ex-defender's death.

It emerged this morning that Bond, who took over at the Canaries in 1973, passed away at the age of 79.

A statement on the club's website said: "Everybody at Norwich City Football Club would like to send their sincere condolences to John's family and friends.

"There will be an opportunity for Canary fans to remember John at Carrow Road at tonight's match with Doncaster Rovers, where his considerable contribution to Norwich City Football Club will be acknowledged prior to kickoff. Both teams will also wear black armbands as a mark of respect."

Bond is the second-longest serving manager at the club, with a seven-year span.
