Alex Neil has admitted that he would get Norwich City relegated if he tried to match fire with fire against teams like Arsenal ahead of Sunday's clash.
The Premier League newboys welcome Arsene Wenger's men to Carrow Road, where they will be hoping to prevent the Gunners from moving top of the table with a victory.
Neil reveals that he shares similar ideas as the long-serving Arsenal boss, but claims that he is forced to abandon his philosophy for the sake the Canaries' top-flight longevity.
"I've had to come away from my principles and my philosophy. I'm not in Arsene's situation where he's got a world-class team who are worth however many millions," he told reporters.
"If I was at a club like Arsenal, yes, it would be easier to stick to my principles. But there is a mismatch because we're playing some of the top teams in Europe and we need to try and find an alternative way of getting points.
"We're a newly promoted team, trying to find our way in the league."
Victory would see City move five points clear of the drop zone.
