Unai Emery is reportedly living on borrowed time at Paris Saint-Germain and could be sacked before the January transfer window opens.
The 46-year-old remained in the job over the summer despite seeing his side fall short in Ligue 1 and the Champions League in his maiden campaign at the Parc des Princes.
Yahoo! Sport suggests that PSG chiefs are running out of patience, however, as tensions have continued to grow between the ex-Sevilla boss and his group of players.
PSG are said to have drawn up a shortlist of replacements for Emery, including Jose Mourinho and Mauricio Pochettino, but it remains to be seen whether they can lure a big-name manager to Paris midway through the season.
The report claims that Emery's position is close to untenable, however, leaving the club's Qatari backers with little choice but to swing the axe sooner rather than later.
