Paul Lambert 'holds talks with Queens Park Rangers, Blackburn Rovers'

A report claims that former Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert has opened talks with Championship duo QPR and Blackburn Rovers over the vacant managerial positions.

Paul Lambert has reportedly opened initial talks with Queens Park Rangers and Blackburn Rovers over the vacant managerial position at both Championship clubs.

The Scotsman has been out of work since being sacked by Aston Villa in February, departing the West Midlands outfit while they were occupying a place in the Premier League's bottom three.

Despite his relative failure at Villa Park, Lambert is still highly thought of due to his work at Norwich City where he guided the Canaries to the Premier League in 2010.

According to Sky Sports News, Blackburn and QPR - without a manager since the sackings of Gary Bowyer and Chris Ramsey respectively - have now made moves to install the 46-year-old.

Lambert is said to have begun negotiations with both clubs, though no deal has yet been struck to seal his return to management.
