Chris Ramsey admits it will be "strange" going up against Tim Sherwood

Queens Park Rangers boss Chris Ramsey admits that it will be "strange" going up against former colleague Tim Sherwood when his side play Aston Villa on Tuesday.

Queens Park Rangers manager Chris Ramsey has admitted that it will be "strange" to go head to head with Tim Sherwood when his side take on Aston Villa on Tuesday evening.

The pair spent four years coaching together at Tottenham Hotspur before they parted ways last summer.

Ramsey replaced Harry Redknapp on an interim basis at Loftus Road earlier this year, while Sherwood was given his first full-time managerial role following Paul Lambert's dismissal in February.

Both clubs are fighting for survival in the Premier League, with QPR three points from safety, and Villa two points above relegation.

"It's strange from a personal point of view because we worked together for four years at Tottenham in various jobs," The Telegraph quotes Ramsey as saying. "I'm sure we'll speak before the game - we generally do every four or five days.

"Without a shadow of a doubt I think he will keep them up. He's got a good squad with players who have got wow factors and I think from his point of view he knows how to manipulate those particular players. If I was a betting man, I would be placing a bet on him keeping them up."

QPR head into the game on the back of a 4-1 win over West Bromwich Albion, while Villa will hope to bounce back from a 3-1 defeat to Manchester United.
