Queens Park Rangers see off Middlesbrough

Queens Park Rangers earn a 2-0 victory over Middlesbrough at Loftus Road to stay top of the Championship table.

Queens Park Rangers have beaten Middlesbrough 2-0 in this afternoon's Championship clash at Loftus Road.

Joey Barton gave the home side the lead after four minutes when his strike found the net after taking a deflection of Frazer Richardson.

Charlie Austin doubled the their lead 10 minutes before the break from the penalty spot after Ben Gibson was penalised for a handball.

Lukas Jutkiewicz went close for the visitors after the break but his low effort was held by Robert Green.

Gary O'Neil had a chance to add a third goal for the hosts but was denied his first goal for the club when Luke Steele tipped his strike over.
