Italian side Napoli emerge as the favourites to sign QPR's Adel Taarabt.

Italian side Napoli have emerged as the favourites to sign QPR playmaker Adel Taarabt in January.

Manager Neil Warnock sanctioned the decision earlier this week after the Moroccan's lack of professionalism had seen him fined on a handful of occasions this season.

Taarabt was replaced as captain of the club by Joey Barton in the summer and almost joined Paris Saint-Germain for £15m on transfer deadline day.

A solid December for Taarabt is thought be enough to convince Napoli to up their interest in the Championship's top scorer from last season.

Meanwhile, Taarabt's QPR host West Brom in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
