The Professional Footballers' Association introduce a six-point action plan to try to stamp racism and discrimination out of football.

The Professional Footballers' Association have announced a new six-point action plan to try to stamp out racism within football.

The PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor has put forward this plan following the accusation from a host of high profile footballers that organisations such as Kick It Out are not doing enough to combat discrimination.

The action plan reveals tougher sanctions against those guilty of racial abuse, which could also lead to being sacked from their position.

The points include the introduction of the US NFL 'Rooney rule', which ensures that qualified black coaches are interviewed for relevant vacancies, while other points state that the number of black managers will be monitored.

The plan also states that any forms of discrimination against disability, gender and sexual orientation will be deemed as gross misconduct from players.
