Frank Sinclair says that the possible creation of 'The Federation of Black Players' would do football more bad than good.

Former Chelsea defender Frank Sinclair believes that a 'black players' PFA would be bad for football.

Reports on Tuesday claimed that Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is looking to set up a breakaway group known as 'The Federation of Black Players' after refusing to wear a Kick It Out T-shirt at the weekend.

However, Sinclair feels that creating such a faction would ultimately lead to trouble.

"There are certain players who are not happy with a lot of things. You can understand where they are coming from," Sinclair told talkSPORT.

"Jason Roberts and Rio Ferdinand have asked for a lot of questions to be answered behind the scenes, but they haven't been, and now they've taken a stand by not wearing the Kick It Out t-shirt. It's shame because the campaign does a lot of good for football. If the players break away and form a black players' PFA it would be very disappointing. We just hope it doesn't get that far.

"In a way it will cause trouble. The players are making a stand for their own reasons and want their questions answered. They are asking for more important roles for black players to make bigger decisions at the higher levels."

Sinclair also spent time in the Premier League with Leicester City.
