Midfielder Graham Dorrans has admitted that the Rangers first-team squad are excited ahead of the arrival of Steven Gerrard.
Last week, Gerrard replaced Graeme Murty in the dugout at Ibrox, and the Liverpool legend has been handed a four-year contract.
Gerrard does not officially being work at the Scottish giants until June 1, but Dorrans has suggested that the club's players are pleased with the appointment.
The 31-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "When a name like that comes into the football club it gives the whole place a lift. Steven Gerrard is a massive figure in the game and the boys are excited and looking forward to working with him.
"When a new manager comes into the football club everyone is starting afresh. That's normal - that's what happens in football. He has his own ideas and all the boys are excited for him to come in and learn from him. Learning from someone of his stature will be great."
Rangers currently sit in third place in the league standings.
