Cristiano Ronaldo says that Real Madrid have "a long way to go" to win the Champions League this season.

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has said that his side cannot start thinking of winning the Champions League just yet.

The defending Spanish champions reached the quarter-finals of the competition courtesy of a 3-2 aggregate victory over Manchester United in the last 16.

"We have a long way to go [to win the UEFA Champions League]," he told UEFA.com.

"We have beaten one of the best teams in the world which is Man United. We have a long way to go and will go step by step.

"We are in a good shape - this week was unbelievable with two wins against Barcelona and now Man United. It was fantastic for us."

Madrid have reached the semi-finals of the Champions League in each of the last two seasons.
