Jese Rodriguez is hoping to make more appearances for the Real Madrid first team if he impresses in training.

Real Madrid youth player Jese Rodriguez has admitted that he does not understand why he has not yet been given a chance in the first team.

His Castilla teammate Alvaro Morata has impressed this season when given a chance, but Jese has said that there is a large number of non-homegrown players in the Real side.

"In the first team there are good players but a lot of them are not homegrown," Marca quotes Jese as saying.

"I do not see why I have not been given a chance. What I will do is keep working, but I do not know. I hope the club know I'm training hard; I'm sure they know, and they will consider me soon enough."

Rodriguez has made one appearance for the Real first team in La Liga.
