Report: Sergio Ramos holds players-only meeting

A report claims that Sergio Ramos has urged his Real Madrid teammates to respect manager Santiago Solari and attempt to end the season on a high.

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos reportedly called a players-only meeting in an attempt to pull the squad together for the rest of the season.

The Spanish giants are in a state of crisis following a disastrous run that has seen them lose four of their last five matches.

As well as exiting the Champions League, a competition they have won three seasons running, Los Blancos are also out of the Copa del Rey and have little hope of challenging for the La Liga title.

Wednesday's 4-1 loss to Ajax was the nadir for Real, with president Florentino Perez bursting into the dressing room after the match to demand answers for the abject display.

Ramos is alleged to have faced the brunt of Perez's fury, despite not featuring in the second leg due to suspension, but El Partidazo de COPE claims that the long-serving defender is now personally trying to pull the group together.

The Spain international is said to have urged his teammates to knuckle down, show respect to manager Santiago Solari and finish second in the league.

Real are back in action on Sunday with a trip to Real Valladolid.
