Zinedine Zidane welcomes Rafael Benitez appointment

Rafael Benitez is "a good choice" to lead Real Madrid next season, according to Real Madrid Castilla boss Zinedine Zidane.

Zinedine Zidane believes that Rafael Benitez is "a good choice" to lead Real Madrid next season.

Benitez was recently confirmed as the Spanish club's new head coach following the exit of Carlo Ancelotti at the end of last season.

Zidane, who is in charge of Real Madrid Castilla, believes that Benitez's winning mentality will count for a lot at the Bernabeu.

"The club chose Benitez and I think it's a good choice. It's a total change and has to be respected," Zidane is quoted as saying by AS.

"He's won trophies, he knows this club and he's been in the cantera and he knows what counts at Madrid are results."

Zidane has been tipped as a future manager of the first team.
