Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe reportedly feels as though the club have reneged on their promise that he could leave during talks with Real Madrid.

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe reportedly feels as though the club have reneged on their transfer promise during talks with Real Madrid over a possible deal this summer.

Los Blancos have returned with a second offer worth €180m (£154.2m) including add-ons for the 22-year-old, having seen their initial approach swiftly rejected earlier this weekend.

The Spanish giants are understood to have told PSG that their latest offer is a take-it-or-leave-it one, and have given them until Sunday evening to respond before they pull out of talks.

PSG have so far insisted that they will not budge on their demands for one of their star assets, but risk losing Mbappe on a free transfer next summer with the attacker having now entered the final year of his contract.

Mbappe has told PSG that he wants to leave, and Sky Sports News reports that he feels as though he is being kept at the club against his will.

The report claims that the France international believes PSG promised him that they would let him leave should they receive an offer which covered what they paid for him initially - something Madrid's £154m approach does.

Mbappe now believes that PSG are going back on their word, with a deal still not thought to be close despite ongoing talks between the two parties.

Should PSG reject or not respond to Madrid's offer before this evening's deadline then Los Blancos are expected to shelve their pursuit until January, when Mbappe will be able to discuss a pre-contract agreement ahead of a free transfer in 2022.

The World Cup winner, who has previously been linked with Liverpool and Manchester United, has been included in PSG's squad for this evening's Ligue 1 match against Reims, when he could feature in a front three alongside Lionel Messi and Neymar for the first time.
