Pepe: 'I want to retire at Real Madrid'

Experienced centre-back Pepe reveals that he wants to end his career at Real Madrid as reports claim that he is close to signing a new deal.

Portuguese centre-back Pepe has revealed that he wants to end his professional career at Real Madrid.

The 33-year-old's current deal at the Bernabeu will expire at the end of the season, but it is understood that the Spanish giants are keen to tie the experienced defender to a new two-year contract.

Despite interest from other clubs, Pepe has said that he is "comfortable at Real Madrid" and is prepared to "wait until the last millisecond" before penning an extension with the Champions League holders.

"I am comfortable at Real Madrid. I have a contract and I will wait until the last millisecond for Madrid. There is time, there is one year," Pepe told Cadena SER.

"Yes, I would like to retire here, although I would accept one [more] year perfectly. I had offers from other teams for more years last year and I told my representative that I stay here."

Pepe, who moved to the Bernabeu from Porto in 2007, has made 317 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid, winning two Champions League titles and two La Liga crowns in the process.
