Real Valladolid and Malaga cannot be separated as they play out a 1-1 draw in their La Liga encounter at Jose Zorilla.

Malaga have been held to a 1-1 draw against Real Valladolid in this evening's La Liga encounter at Jose Zorrilla.

The result sees the visitors edge one point ahead of fifth-placed Real Betis, while the hosts go above Sevilla and Levante into 10th.

Manuel Pellegrini's men took an early lead in the eighth minute through Argentine defender Martin Demichelis.

He got his head to Duda's free kick and glanced beyond Daniel Hernandez as the Valladolid defence stood static.

The hosts pushed forward in search of a route back into the game, but were unable to create any clear-cut scoring opportunities.

However, they were back in the game just before half time when Manucho powered home a header from Lluis Sastre's cross.

Valladolid looked the more likely to find a winner in the second half, but neither team could make the breakthrough.
