Rennes had two early opportunities inside the first five minutes, though both Mevlut Erding and Romain Alessandrini missed their chances.

Romain Danze drove forward for the home side on 17 minutes, but his shot was well-saved by the goalkeeper.

Erding had two opportunities within two minutes just after the 20-minute mark, but missed the target with both efforts.

Bordeaux had their first real effort of the game, but Nicolas Maurice-Belay's smashed effort was saved.

The away side then took the lead on 57 minutes through Yoan Gouffran, who finished smartly to make it 1-0.

The away side doubled their lead on 66 minutes through Henri Saivet.

Goufrann pressed forward to try and make it three for Bordeaux, but his shot went wide of the post.
