Steve Evans hints at permanent deal for Lawrie Wilson

Rotherham United manager Steve Evans reveals that there is a plan in place to sign Lawrie Wilson from Charlton Athletic permanently this summer.

Rotherham United manager Steve Evans has hinted that the club could sign Lawrie Wilson on a permanent basis this summer.

Wilson joined the club on loan from Charlton Athletic just 24 hours before making his debut in the 3-2 loss to Sheffield Wednesday last Saturday, and Evans believes that the 27-year-old can fill a void in the squad.

"We have been looking for a player who can play that right side of midfield role for a couple of months now," the Millers boss told reporters. "Someone that could come in with the industry and skilful attributes that improves us.

"It's a wonderful opportunity for a player to look at a football club and a football club to look at a player.

"We have got the option to do something further and that is on Lawrie and ourselves."

Wilson had made 27 appearances for Charlton this season before making the switch to Rotherham.
