Son Heung-Min is hopeful that South Korea will learn from their early World Cup exit and use the elimination as motivation to improve.
Jan Vertonghen hit a 78th-minute winner as 10-man Belgium beat the South Koreans 1-0 on Thursday to send Hong Myung-Bo's side out of the tournament.
The 21-year-old, who scored his first World Cup goal in the 4-2 defeat to Algeria, claims to be pleased with his individual contribution, but believes that the collective performance was lacking throughout the campaign.
"Scoring my first goal at the World Cup was really important from a personal standpoint. But in general, the team didn't play well, which was disappointing," he told FIFA.com.
"We didn't perform the way we had hoped. The experience will help us to prepare better for the next tournament and be more competitive. That's my hope."
Belgium and Algeria progressed to the last 16 of the competition from Group H.
