Guido Carrillo 'to leave Southampton for Leganes'

Southampton forward Guido Carrillo will join La Liga outfit Leganes on loan for the 2018-19 campaign, according to a report.

Southampton forward Guido Carrillo will reportedly join Leganes on loan for the 2018-19 campaign.

The Saints paid Monaco £19m to sign the 27-year-old during the January transfer window, but he failed to score in his 10 appearances for the English club in the second half of the 2017-18 season.

Carrillo has been left out of the Southampton squad for their pre-season tour of China, and according to Sky Sports News, the striker is nearing a loan move to La Liga outfit Leganes.

The Argentine scored eight times in 24 appearances for Monaco in the first half of last season, but is not in the plans of Southampton boss Mark Hughes ahead of the new campaign.

Sofiane Boufal was also left out of the Southampton squad for their pre-season tour, and the winger is widely expected to leave St Mary's in this summer's transfer window.
