Mauricio Pochettino not expecting January business for Southampton

Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he is not interested in bringing any players into the squad in January.

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that he does not intend to make any signing in the January transfer window when it opens.

Pochettino said that the key thing is for the club's young players to train with the senior squad in order to start breaking through, rather than bringing in new faces.

"We're not really concerned with the transfer window in January," he told the Daily Echo. "We're really happy with the young players that are part of this team.

"We're really happy that the young players are actually partaking in the training sessions with the older players in the team and that they're getting a feel for what it is to be in the senior side.

"I think that gives us a very important equilibrium, a very important balance in the team, and we're really happy with their contribution, so we're not really looking toward the transfer window."

Reports have claimed that the Saints are interested in signing Jonathan Pitroipa.
