Rafael van der Vaart has revealed that he is disappointed to have not been selected for Tottenham Hotspur's Europa League squad.
The 28-year-old midfielder limped off during Spurs' 5-1 defeat to Manchester City last month and was expected to be out of action for six to eight weeks.
However, Van der Vaart has been undergoing intensive treatment in Holland and recently claimed that he will be fit for this weekend's match against Liverpool.
With that injury in mind, manager Harry Redknapp decided not to choose the Dutch international for his European squad, a fact that Van der Vaart has found "annoying".
"They could at least have consulted me on this," Van der Vaart told his official website.
"I still think it's a peculiar situation. Anyway it's up to the point of no return.
"I will be focusing on the game against Liverpool. I'm pretty convinced I will be fit by then thanks to Dick van Toorn."
Van der Vaart scored 13 Premier League goals last season following his deadline day move from Real Madrid.
