Brad Friedel believes that Aston Villa keeper Brad Guzan will be Villa's number one for the next 10 years and feels that he will become of the best keepers in the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur keeper Brad Friedel believes that Aston Villa stopper Brad Guzan has the ability to become "one of the top" keepers in the Premier League.

The 28-year-old was released at the end of the 2011-12 season but was re-signed by Paul Lambert and the American eventually beat out Shay Given for the starting spot in the Villa team.

Friedel told the club's official website: "He could be Villa's No.1 for over ten years, absolutely. It's entirely up to him by way of his performances.

"When you're a goalkeeper that's all you can ask. You can only ask to be in the team if your level of performance is consistently high.

"He can be one of the top goalkeepers in the Premier League too. He has all the attributes to be."

Guzan made 37 appearances for Villa in all competitions last season.
