Mauricio Pochettino plays down unbeaten run

Mauricio Pochettino says that Tottenham Hotspur showed "good quality" during their 3-1 win over Aston Villa.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has played down his side's strong start to the Premier League season.

The Lilywhites claimed a 3-1 win over Aston Villa this evening to move up to fifth in the table and extend their unbeaten run to 10 league games.

While Pochettino was pleased with the performance from his team at White Hart Lane, he has urged caution with a crucial North London derby against Arsenal to come at the weekend.

"In football you must never lose your focus and maybe we lost our position on the pitch late on because our mentality was to go forward." he told Sky Sports News.

"Today we showed some good quality. We suffered a little bit in the last 10 minutes but that's football.

"The next game is important and we need to keep our focus and win the next game. Our start is good but that's nothing."

Spurs will take on Anderlecht in the Europa League on Thursday, before making the trip to the Emirates to face Arsenal on Sunday.
