Mauricio Pochettino: First penalty was "ridiculous"

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino describes the first penalty that Manchester City were awarded in their 4-1 win as "ridiculous".

Mauricio Pochettino has described the decision to award Manchester City the penalty that put them ahead against Tottenham Hotspur as "ridiculous".

The sides were level at 1-1 when Frank Lampard won a penalty for the hosts, allowing Sergio Aguero to score his second of four goals on City's way to a 4-1 victory.

The Tottenham manager told BBC Sport: "I think the first penalty after we scored made it difficult for us. We played 70 minutes when we were always in the game. Manchester City have very good players. The result was bad but there are a lot of positives to take.

"The first penalty for me was ridiculous but we need to accept the decision. We need to review the game, my feeling was it is not a red card [for Federico Fazio]. A lot of things happened. It's difficult to analyse. We always believed it was possible to get a point."

The home side were awarded three penalties in the match, two of which were converted by Aguero, while Hugo Lloris saved one.
