Barcelona want to sign Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Toby Alderweireld, according to a report.

Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Toby Alderweireld.

Alderweireld, 29, was strongly linked with a move to Manchester United during the summer but ultimately remained at Spurs.

The Belgium international will be available for £25m in the final two weeks of next summer's transfer window if Tottenham trigger a one-year extension on his contract though, which is expected to see the defender depart.

Barcelona want a new centre-back in January due to the injuries to Samuel Umtiti and Thomas Vermaelen, and according to The Mirror, Alderweireld has emerged as a potential option.

The Spanish champions have also been strongly linked with a move for Ajax's Matthijs de Ligt, although a January exit has been ruled out.

Alderweireld has made nine appearances in all competitions for Tottenham this season.
