Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips insists that he wants to spend the rest of his career at Elland Road, despite reported interest from Tottenham, Wolves and Aston Villa.

Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has distanced himself from speculation linking him with a move away from the club, insisting that he wants to stay at Elland Road for the remainder of his career.

Phillips has been one of Leeds' standout performers in their Championship promotion push this season, with his form reportedly garnering the attention of England boss Gareth Southgate.

Premier League interest has also followed - Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa are among the clubs to have been linked with the 24-year-old - but Phillips is focused on enjoying top-flight success with Leeds.

"I want to spend my career at Leeds and see the club doing well in the Premier League. I'm just enjoying every minute right now," he told FourFourTwo.

"We've massively improved in this campaign, we're a lot more experienced. We went through a bad patch at the wrong time last season and then lost in the playoffs. It was tough but it has helped us. We're probably the fittest team in the league — that's important to him [Marcelo Bielsa].

"He's on our case all the time, checking weight and conditioning and demanding we always give absolutely everything in training. Honestly, if someone from outside came in and saw what he had us doing for pre-season, they'd think he was crazy. But we're in a strong position because of it.

"Leeds brought him in to coach the club but he has had a big effect on the whole city. He wants to do Leeds proud."

Leeds sit top of the Championship table as things stand, seven points clear of third-placed Fulham as the league waits to resume again following the coronavirus outbreak.
