Report: No bids made for £27m-rated Georginio Wijnaldum

A report claims that Newcastle United have yet to receive an approach from Everton or Tottenham Hotspur for midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, who is valued at £27m.

Newcastle United are demanding a fee of £27m for Georginio Wijnaldum but have yet to receive a single bid, according to a report.

The Dutchman, who moved to St James' Park from PSV Eindhoven for nearly half that figure last summer, has been heavily linked with a switch to Tottenham Hotspur and Everton among others in recent weeks.

It is claimed by Sky Sports News that no official approach has been made for either Wijnaldum or in-demand teammate Moussa Sissoko, who himself has a price tag of around £35m after an impressive Euro 2016 showing.

Wijnaldum has been taken on Newcastle's pre-season tour of Ireland, as the Magpies step up their preparations for their upcoming Championship campaign.

Rafael Benitez's men kick things off on the opening day with a trip to face Fulham, before hosting Huddersfield Town and Reading.
