Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is confident of signing Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale this summer, according to reports in Spain.

Reports in Spain have claimed that Real Madrid are confident of signing Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale this summer.

The Welsh winger, 23, has been in inspired form this season and has scored five goals in his last four appearances for club and country.

It is believed that Real club president Florentino Perez will base his forthcoming re-election campaign on bringing Bale to the Bernabeu and, according to El Confidencial, the La Liga champions expect to be successful with a £38m bid for the player.

Bale, who is under contact at White Hart Lane until June 2016, has been capped 39 times at senior international level.
